I’ve been to the happiest place on Earth, where dreams really do come true.
I’ve been a few times actually and plan on going to them all! It’s been a 5 year journey to complete our goal of visiting all the Disney Parks around the world. It started back in December of 2010 while standing in the original Disneyland in LA my husband and I were so inspired by what Walt Disney had achieved we set a goal of our own. To take our family to all the Disney parks around the world. At the end of this year we will have achieved that Dream as we enter Disneyland Paris this Christmas.
What makes our Disney journey even more unique is that we have been to all the parks during the month of December when the Christmas ‘Holiday’ time theme is on throughout the park. Disney does everything with excellence down to every detail. Huge Christmas trees covered with beautiful decorations, Christmas parades and shows, Christmas themed merchandise, and Christmas themed meals and snacks can be found throughout the parks during the Holiday season. It truly is a Christmas wonderland.
In the midst of our Disney journey we also found that the dream grew bigger than we first thought. We added staying at the Disney Aulani resort in Hawaii to our adventures. Travel and Leisure awarded Aulani #1 in the World Best Awards for a Family Hotel. We have stayed here twice so far and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. As with all the Disney Parks the service here is outstanding from beginning to end. It is without a doubt a family favourite destination and one that we will always return to. We also plan to take a Disney cruise one day!

Here is a brief summary of our journey for now. I will put more details on each Disney Park in future blog posts:
Disneyland and California Adventure Park in LA: It’s the original! Starting our journey here to visit all the Disney parks was perfect. I’ll never forget the ‘Believe…in Holiday Magic fireworks spectacular’ with a magical snowfall finale.
Walt Disney World in Florida: It’s huge! It is the size of two Manhattans! We stayed onsite for 9 nights at the Art of Animation resort in the Cars Movie themed section.
Disneyland and DisneySea Tokyo: it’s so different! Some rides are the same but some rides here you won’t find anywhere else either. The food here is an attraction in itself. With several different popcorn flavours to discover, choose your favourite popcorn bucket, hang it around your neck and your set to go!
Disneyland Hong Kong: December 2015. This is the smallest of all the Disney parks. This will be our first time not staying at a Disney resort or Disney affiliated property while visiting a Disney Park.
Disneyland Paris: December 2015 (for Christmas). Paris has two parks: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. We will be staying 3 nights at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.
On the 25th December 2015, our goal may have been achieved but our Disney journey has not come to an end. This is a dream over a lifetime not a ‘once in a lifetime’ dream. “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world” – Walt Disney. And so our journey continues with news of another park being built in Shanghai, we look forward to making more family memories together.
