It’s a journey that goes back to where that creative spark first started in the heart and mind of the maker. Discovering the why or how behind the end product makes this a very unique and interesting shopping day. Having the opportunity to also ask questions and talk one on one with the designer themselves can help you create the world you live in- your home!
The White Room have collaborated with some of Melbourne’s best – Kate and Kate home, Marmoset Found, Plyroom, Sage and Clare, Ninnho, and Fox and Ramona. On the tour I attended our special guest was Graphic Designer, Erin from Harley Quinn and Co. It was lovely to meet this creative lady and hear about her story. It was a great opportunity to see and purchase some of her work on the spot. This shopping tour is a back stage pass to the showrooms and the designers of some of the brands you know and love. It’s so interesting to see how the product is made, hear the story behind the designs, and meet the creators while shopping and enjoying an attractive discount.
I’ve been on all three of the tours that The White Room currently offer; Decoration Indulgence, South Side Lux and Exclusive Access-Showroom Shopping Tour. All of them are unique in their own way and have been fun and Interesting. Alex and Rohan, The White Room founders, are fabulous down to earth tour guides with extensive interior styling and design experience behind them. They are always on hand throughout the tour to help you out with any styling tips and suggestions. All tours are inspired by Melbourne’s upcoming and established boutique stores, as a way to explore and tour Melbourne’s underground interior design and decoration spots.
All of The White Room tours include a comfy bus to chauffeur you around iconic Melbourne suburbs, a delicious lunch at a café or restaurant, some styling advice throughout the day and a gift bag. This intimate boutique shopping experience will leave you feeling inspired, creative and with lots of wonderful new things for your home.
At the end of the tour I felt inspired and encouraged by hearing about how others have started small, pursued their dreams and made it a successful reality while also purchasing some beautiful items for my home.
